75 countries observed sit-at-home order - IPOB

- The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Wednesday, May 31, said the sit-at-home order given to its members was observed by 75 countries around the world

- IPOB's publicity secretary Powerful Emma said Biafra supporters around the world complied with the order

- Emma said the compliance is an evidence of the quest for the freedom of Biafra in the hearts of the Igbo people

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Wednesday, May 31, said the sit-at-home order given to its members was observed by 75 countries around the world.

The group in a statement by its publicity secretary Powerful Emma said Biafra supporters around the world complied with the order.

Emma also thanked Biafra supporters for their compliance with the order which he said is an evidence of their quest for the sovereign state of Biafra by the people from the South-East and South-South region of Nigeria.

Listing the countries that complied with the order Emma said: "The Indigenous People of Biafra and its leadership worldwide congratulate Biafrans and all the IPOB family members worldwide both in Biafra land and in the Diaspora for their compliance with the sit-at-home order issued by our indefatigable leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu."

"Mazi Nnamdi Kanu issued this sit-at-home order when he was still in Kuje Prison, Abuja, and it has come to pass; all the people of Biafra both home and abroad complied in all totality. This had not been done in the history of Biafra struggle before.

“We also blame those saboteurs who were paid by the government to sabotage the restoration project because today Biafrans and IPOB members worldwide obeyed Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. We, IPOB, must be strong and we promise everybody that Biafra is here," Emma said.

Emma said order was complied with by people in Taiwan, Chad, Switzerland, United Kingdom, USA, Russia, Ukraine, Angola, Congo DRC, Mozambique, Luxembourg, Brazil, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, St. Kitts, Canada, Italy, Norway, Denmark, Spain, Sweden and France.

Others include: Germany, Austria, Finland, South Africa, Togo, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Benin Republic, Gabon, Cape Verde, Madagascar, Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Namibia, Equatorial Guinea, UAE, Kuwait and Qatar.

Scotland, Holland, Belgium, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Greece, Pakistan, India, Trinidad and Tobago, Israel, Italy, Argentina, Burkina Faso, Tanzania, Sao Tome and Principe, Australia, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Namibia, Niger Republic, Tunisia, Algeria and Cape Verde also complied with the sit-at-home order, Emma noted.

Legit.ng had earlier reported that most of the state in the South-East including Anambra, Enugu and Abia state were like graveyards yesterday, May 30, during the sit-at-home protest.

Yesterday's event came after some elders from the region issued a warning to the IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu over the sit-at-home order.

The elders under the aegis of South-East Youths and Elders’ Forum urged Kanu not to do anything that will clash with the federal government.

The group also warned Kanu to stop flouting his bail condition which was granted to him by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
