- Ola Aina is waiting on FIFA to approve his switch of allegiance to Nigeria

- The Chelsea defender has represented England at all junior age-grade levels

- The 21-year-old has played five times for Antonio Conte's side this season

Chelsea defender Ola Aina has already submitted his application to FIFA to switch his allegiance from England to Nigeria.

The 20-year-old right back has played five times for Antonio Conte's title-chasing side this season.

Olaoluwa Aina was born in England and has represented the country at U-16,U-17, U-18, U-19 and U-20 levels.

He is however eligible to play for the Super Eagles but he must get FIFA approval first which he hopes will be given to him by the football governing body.

“The documentation has been done and in the new week, it will be submitted to FIFA for approval,” an official of the Nigerian Federation told scorenigeria.com.ng.

“How fast FIFA and the FA in England work on this will determine how soon his application will come through.”

Legit.ng recalls that Aina trained with Gernot Rohr’s team when they were in London during the recent international window in March.

He was reported to have switched allegiance alonside Chuba Akpom, an Arsenal player follwing talks with Amaju Pinnick, the NFF president.
