Nigerians have said they don't expect less on the confirmation of Magu from those (lawmakers) sinking N150B yearly without accountability

This rejection, a second of its kind since Magu's nomination as the acting chairman by the president, has thrown the country and Nigeria's into heated discussions.

While some believe that there are strong forces against the acting chairman's confirmation, others have called on the president to nominate another individual for the position of EFCC's chairman.

However, some other Nigerians have accused the Nigerian Senate of denying Magu his confirmation because most of them (the lawmakers) are corrupt.

These Nigerians are of the opinion that the Senate is working against Magu with the help of the Department of State Service (DSS) to prevent Magu from fishing out corrupt individuals withing both institutions.

However, in December 2016, the Nigerian Senate failed to confirm Magu as the substantive chairman over two conflicting reports by the DSS indicting Magu of corrupt practices.
