There’s no move of Pastor Kumuyi retiring from leadership of Deeper Life Bible Church

- The report that Pastor Kumuyi of Deeper Life Bible Church is retiring is unfounded

- The church pastors say there's no plan in that direction

- For seven days Pastor Kumuyi ministered to leaders of the church between January 2 and 7, he never said so

Against reports making the round that Pastor William Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry is set to retire as Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God has handed over the administration of the Nigerian church to another overseer, emerging facts indicate that Pastor Kumuyi has no such intentions and this is authoritative.

Reports making the round are that Pastor Kumuyi, Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners Church, Pastor Daniel Olukoya of Mountain of Fire and Miracles and other General Overseers of registered and nationally recognized churches are set to retire following the law that general overseers of churches are to retire after a certain period of time.

According to the new law by the Financial Regulations Council, guiding registered churches, mosques and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), heads of non-profit making organisations like churches have a maximum period of 20 years to lead their organisations and they are not permitted to handover to their family members.

However, senior pastors of the church have said that there is no such move in Deeper Life Bible Church, noting that the reports in some of the national dailies are speculations and not from the authority of the Deeper Life Bible Church.

According to them, the reports may have emanated from the fact that Adeboye has relinquished the Nigerian Redeemed Christian Church of God to another overseer, other churches will follow suit.

Also, our correspondent, who was a participant at the 2017 leadership strategic congress held between Monday July 2 to Saturday July 7 at the Deeper Life Conference Centre along Lagos Ibadan Expressway, reports that Pastor Kumuyi never made any statement in that direction throughout the seven days the congress lasted.

Pastor Kumuyi, who gathered senior pastors and other leaders of the church from the African continent and beyond, spoke on sundry issues affecting the Christian church and warned Christians to hold fast to God’s word so as to attract God’s blessings in 2017.
